Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition unveiled: a smartphone with a professional photography kit

Chinese smartphone manufacturer nubia has introduced the Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition, a new device that features up to 24GB of RAM and the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition has a 6.85-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The screen-to-body ratio is 95.3%, and the peak brightness is 2000 nits. There is also a 16-megapixel front camera on the front.

The cameras are, of course, a key element in the smartphone called Ultra Photographer Edition. It has three modules: the main 50 MP camera with a Light and Shadow Master 990 sensor (1/1.3″ from Omnivision) and optical stabilization, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle with a 120° field of view, and a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera. The main sensor is the first one, with a focal length of 35 mm — it was specially tuned for this model.

In addition, nubia offers a special professional photography kit, which includes a case with T-mount adapter support and a 67mm filter adapter ring. This allows users to use ND filters or polarizers with the smartphone camera. The kit can also include a shoulder strap, magnetic suction cup and a 1/4 inch threaded interface for tripod mounting.

At the presentation, nubia also showed off a set of interchangeable lenses for the smartphone's main 35mm camera. Together with Fotogear, five external T-mount lenses were created: a fisheye lens, a macro lens, a 139mm telephoto lens, and a 400mm super telephoto lens. Thanks to this, users can extend the focal length of the camera for shooting in different conditions.

Among other things, the nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition is equipped with a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with an Adreno 830 graphics accelerator, up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device has an under-screen fingerprint scanner, IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, and a 6,600mAh battery with 80W charging support.

nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition is already available in China. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs about $630, and for the maximum modification with 24 GB and 1 TB you will have to pay $865. The photography kit costs about $125 more. The smartphone will appear on the global market later.
