A new patent from Take-Two Interactive hints at major changes to GTA VI character animations

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has filed a patent that could change the approach to character animation in Grand Theft Auto VI, MySmartPrice reports, citing YouTube blogger CYBER BOI, who shared the patent.

According to the 88-page document, the new system will allow for automatic generation of animations for characters of different heights, weights, and builds, which will significantly expand customization options.

Previously, GTA games used motion capture technology with real actors, which limited the variety of character models. This new approach, integrated with the proprietary RAGE engine, will allow for realistic movement for characters of all proportions without the need to hire actors for every body type.

This technology will provide realistic in-game character behavior, taking into account their physical characteristics. Players will be able to watch their avatars move and interact with the world of GTA VI, while maintaining a unique and realistic experience.

CYBER BOI suggests that this technology could make the game more dynamic and exciting, adding unpredictability, like in modified versions of The Sims 4.

Rockstar Games is yet to reveal details about the game and its second trailer, but this patent demonstrates the company's desire for innovation that could change the perception of freedom of action in GTA VI.
