Chinese company Farasis Energy has introduced a new 6C ultra-fast charging technology. It allows electric car batteries to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 8 minutes and 55 seconds, CNEVPost reports.
The new technology significantly reduces charging time, which is one of the main problems for electric vehicle owners, especially during long trips.
6C technology means that the battery can be charged in a time equal to 1/6 of its nominal capacity.
Farasis Energy’s new approach optimizes battery design for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium ternary batteries. In addition, the new Super Packaging (SPS) technology improves battery heat dissipation, allowing the battery to maintain a temperature below 50°C during fast charging. This helps prevent overheating and increases charging efficiency.
By the way, Farasis Energy is one of the largest battery manufacturers in China. The company controls 0.48% of the Chinese battery market and plans to increase this share thanks to the new technology.
