Google has updated NotebookLM to make notes publicly accessible. Users can now share their notes via a link — viewers won't be able to edit the content, but they will have access to AI summaries, audio reviews, and the ability to ask questions.
NotebookLM is a tool for working with educational and work materials, which has grown from an experiment into one of Google's successful AI projects since 2023. The service can summarize documents, presentations, videos from YouTube and other sources, create podcast-style discussions, and respond to queries.
To enable public access, simply click the "Share" button in the top right corner and change the access setting to "Anyone with a link." You can still send notes to individual people with editing rights or share audio reviews through the Gemini app if you need to.
The update simplifies teamwork and allows you to create open educational or research collections with interactive access.
Recall that Google also recently released the NotebookLM mobile app for iOS and Android.
