During Nintendo Direct, the Japanese game and console developer unveiled Virtual Game Cards, a new system that should change how digital games work on consoles. Among other things, it will make it easier to lend games to other users, writes VGC.
The new features will be rolled out as a system update later in April. After the update, digital games on Switch will appear as virtual cards on a separate screen, where they can be downloaded or deleted from the library.
The library will display both users' own games and games from their Nintendo Family Group or other consoles connected to their primary account. Video Game Cards will also allow users to borrow games from other users wirelessly. Only one game can be borrowed at a time for two weeks, after which it will be returned to the original owner.
We remind you that on April 2, Nintendo will hold another Direct during which it will share details of the new Switch 2 portable console, introduced in January.
