Google introduces new AI capabilities for Samsung Galaxy devices

- 9 July, 06:36 PM

Google joined the Galaxy Unpacked event, where it unveiled new foldable smartphones and smartwatches, to make a few announcements related to artificial intelligence capabilities on Samsung devices. One of the updates adds AI Mode to the Circle to Search feature.

By holding down the home button and circling the desired item on the screen thanks to Circle to Search, users will be able to get a detailed answer about the object, generated by artificial intelligence. Then, in the chatbot format, they will be able to ask additional questions and receive useful links, additional information, etc.

This feature, among other things, will be used during games. Players will be able to hover over a specific object, character, or task to receive an answer from artificial intelligence with hints, relevant videos, and links to guide articles. Once they have the information they need, users will be able to easily return to the game.

In addition, the new Galaxy Fold7 now has the ability to hold down the power button and share the screen with Gemini to get additional information about all displayed content. This feature can be used, for example, for shopping. By opening a store website, users will be able to consult with Gemini on which product to choose based on certain indicators.

On the new Galaxy Flip7, users can activate Live Mode by pressing the camera button and selecting Flex Mode. In this mode, the smartphone will analyze the environment and provide advice, for example, on haircuts or yoga exercises. Meanwhile, the Flip7's external screen can be used to quickly call up Gemini Live to get quick answers, for example, on choosing clothes or accessories, without having to open the smartphone.

Google has also recently started rolling out Gemini Live integration to its apps, such as Calendar, Tasks, Maps, and more. Starting with the Flip7 and Fold7, Gemini will also be able to connect to Samsung apps, including Calendar, Reminder, and Notes. This will allow the chatbot to be used to create notes, add events to your calendar, and more.

Finally, the new Galaxy Watch8 will be the first smartwatches to ship with Wear OS 6 and Gemini integration, allowing you to use it for quick replies, reminders, running and health tracking, and more.
