New leaks about the iPhone 17 series continue to emerge, and according to newly released CAD drawings, Apple is making major camera module upgrades. These changes will affect all models in the lineup.

According to leaked images posted on his X account by @SonnyDickson, the standard iPhone 17 will retain the vertical camera module, just like the iPhone 16. However, the iPhone 17 Air, which could replace the Plus model, will feature a capsule-shaped camera bump. This model is expected to feature a 48-megapixel primary sensor, similar to the iPhone 16's primary camera.

The biggest design changes will come to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Apple will replace the square camera bump with a wider rectangular module. The Pro models will still have a three-lens system, which will be arranged in a triangular shape. Apple will also move the LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor to the right side of the camera module.

The new design is reminiscent of the latest Google Pixel models, marking a shift in Apple's approach to design. If these leaks are accurate, the iPhone 17 series could set a new standard for smartphone cameras. The official announcement of the new iPhone 17s is still a few months away, but these changes look promising.
