Netflix collected 95 billion hours of viewing in the first half of 2025

Netflix has shared its viewing statistics for the first half of 2025. The streaming service's content was watched for more than 95 billion hours worldwide. For comparison, the service collected 94 billion hours in both the first and second half of 2024.

The most popular movie from January to June 2025 was the action comedy Back in Action starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, which collected 165 million hours of viewing. Among the shows, the leader was the crime drama miniseries Adolescence.

One of the biggest phenomena of recent years, the series Squid Game has amassed over 230 million hours of viewing across all seasons. The second and third seasons, in particular, rank second and third in the top shows, respectively.

Earlier this month, Netflix also announced that over 50% of its audience is watching anime, which is reflected in the first half of the year's figures. The most popular title was the classic Naruto, which attracted 45 million viewers, while the new Sakamoto Days came in second with 24 million viewers. Legendary Studio Ghibli films such as Ghost in the Shell and Howl's Moving Castle also made the list.

In addition, Netflix notes that half of the streaming service's original shows are from projects released in 2023 or earlier. In particular, the series Orange is the New Black, Ozark, and others remain popular.
