Ukraine launches world's first state AI assistant
Ukraine has become the first country in the world to start providing public services using artificial intelligence, said Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
Diia.AI, a virtual agent that can not only answer questions but also provide services in chat, has launched on the Diia portal. It will soon appear in the mobile application.
Here's what Diia.AI can already do:
- Provides services directly in the chat. For example, you can get an income certificate simply by sending a message.
- Advises on services at Diia — from opening a sole proprietorship to "Baby Package".
- Selects services for a specific situation. For example, helps with the "eRecovery" program.
Diia.AI is currently in open beta testing. Users can leave feedback so the team can improve the service.
The government emphasizes that this is just the beginning: the goal is to turn Diia into a full-fledged AI agent that will work 24/7 and significantly simplify the interaction of citizens with the state.
By 2030, Ukraine plans to enter the top 3 world leaders in the implementation of AI in the public sector.
As a reminder, Ukraine has also recently launched Diia.Card for receiving government payments. It can be created on a smartphone in a few clicks through the Diia application or partner banks.
