The world's most popular YouTuber plans to launch his own mobile service

The world's most popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is planning to launch his own mobile service in the US, Business Insider reports, citing a leak to investors.

Despite the fact that sources indicate that launching a mobile service is not a priority for the MrBeast team, the leak indicates a possible launch in 2026. The publication emphasizes that the YouTuber does not have to create his own company: he can cooperate with operators such as T-Mobile or Verizon to offer the service under his own brand.

Judging by the presentation to investors, MrBeast plans to use a business strategy known as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Similar services have already been launched by famous actor Ryan Reynolds and the family of US President Donald Trump. Reynolds, in particular, sold his company to mobile operator T-Mobile in 2023 for $1.35 billion.

The move into mobile services is part of a larger initiative by Beast Industries, Donaldson’s company, to diversify the MrBeast brand beyond media. The YouTuber’s company already has a chocolate bar brand called Feastables and a toy line. In addition to mobile services, the company is also considering expanding into industries such as fintech and mobile gaming.

MVNO experts believe that to launch its own mobile network, MrBeast should sign an agreement with a telecom partner to lease voice and data services, because creating its own infrastructure is unrealistic for even the most popular YouTuber. In turn, Donaldson and his team should focus on attracting an audience, leaving the billing and service issues to the intermediary.

"The ultimate objective is to focus on the marketing and sales and outsource everything to a third party," said Alex Besen, MVNO consultant and founder and CEO of The Besen Group.
