According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple's first foldable iPhone is expected in late 2026 or early 2027. The new product will have a book-style design and cost over $2,000.

The smartphone's internal screen will measure 7.8 inches without folds, and the external screen will measure 5.5 inches. When folded, the device will be 9 to 9.5 mm thick, and when unfolded, it will be 4.5 to 4.8 mm thick.

The foldable ‌iPhone‌ will feature a titanium alloy body, a stainless steel and titanium alloy hinge, a dual rear camera and a single front camera. Interestingly, this iPhone will not have Face ID, instead using a Touch ID button on the side to save internal space.

Kuo also notes that the device will be positioned as a "true AI smartphone," with large screens that allow for improved AI-powered multitasking.

Apple plans to finalize the specifications of the new product in the second quarter of 2025 and begin mass production in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a possible launch in late 2026 or early 2027.
