Microsoft launches Gaming Copilot for Windows PCs and the Xbox mobile app
Microsoft has announced the official launch of the beta version of its artificial intelligence-based gaming assistant — Gaming Copilot — for Windows PC users and the Xbox mobile app.
On PC, the service will appear in the Game Bar for players aged 18 and over. The mobile version for Android and iOS will begin rolling out in October after completing beta testing that began in May of this year. Gaming Copilot will be available in most countries except mainland China.
The assistant interface is implemented as a chat box that is superimposed on top of the game. Users will be able to ask questions, receive game tips and information about their Xbox account. The system analyzes screenshots from the game to provide relevant tips, and also offers recommendations for content to purchase.
Gaming Copilot supports voice communication: there is a "Push to Talk" hotkey on the PC and a microphone button on the mobile app. A widget is also available for the PC that can be placed anywhere on the screen, which is convenient for long conversations.
The new software has also been tested on portable consoles running Windows. It is expected that after the launch of its own portable gaming devices Xbox Ally, scheduled for October 16, the assistant will also appear on them.
Microsoft continues to test Gaming Copilot and encourages users to leave feedback to improve the functionality according to the needs of players.
