Microsoft updates Xbox app and Game Bar on Windows
Microsoft has released an update to the Xbox app on Windows. Users have received a revamped Game Bar interface, some improvements to the Cloud Gaming feature, and more bonuses for Game Pass subscribers in free games.
The Game Bar has a cleaner interface. The home screen and widgets like Recording and Productivity now look more minimalistic, with fewer lines and colors. Microsoft says this is just the beginning of visual changes that will be implemented by the end of March 2025.
By the way, the Discord app also recently received a similar visual update.
As for the Xbox Cloud Gaming update, it's now possible to switch between games without having to go back to the main page. For now, this only works with a few Assassin's Creed games, but Microsoft promises that it will soon work with other cloud games. Cloud Gaming is also expanding the number of games that support the Stream Your Own Game feature.
Microsoft has expanded the list of free games for Game Pass subscribers that they can get bonuses for. The new games join the list with Heroes in the Storm, Naraka: Bladepoint, and The Finals. Call of Duty: Warzone will also be added in April.
