Microsoft has started testing a unified game library in the Xbox app for Windows 11. Xbox Insider members were the first to receive it.
The application now automatically displays installed games from Steam and Battle.net alongside Xbox and Game Pass games. All of them appear in the "My Library" section and in the list of recently launched projects. If desired, the user can hide certain stores in the settings (Library & Extensions section).
Microsoft is positioning this update as part of a plan to make the Xbox App the primary access point for PC games, and the company has also confirmed that support for stores like the Epic Games Store and GOG will be added later.
The feature will also be available on Windows laptops such as the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. In full-screen Xbox mode on these devices, users will have unified access to their entire library, making them more convenient for gaming both in the cloud and locally.
To try the update, you'll need to install the Xbox Insider Hub app on your PC and join the PC Gaming Preview program. A public release is expected later this year.
