Microsoft launched Security Copilot in 2024, introducing a chatbot to the cybersecurity space. Now, the company is expanding it to include AI agents designed to help security teams perform routine tasks.
Microsoft AI security agents will be available for preview in April 2025. They are designed to triage and process phishing and data loss alerts, prioritize critical incidents, and monitor vulnerabilities.
A total of 11 agents will be added, 6 of which are developed by Microsoft, while the rest are created by third-party partners. Microsoft is working with OneTrust, Aviatrix, BlueVoyant, Tanium, and Fletch. Their AI agents will make it easier to analyze data leaks with OneTrust or analyze the root causes of network failures and outages with Aviatrix.
While the AI agents in Security Copilot are designed for security teams, Microsoft is also improving protection in Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will soon begin protecting Teams users from phishing and other cyberthreats.
