Microsoft announces new features for Windows 11 and Copilot+ computers
In addition to the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13, Microsoft also announced new features for Windows 11 and Copilot+ computers, writes Windows Central.
One of the key innovations will be the AI agent built into Windows 11. It will help find and adjust operating system settings using natural language. For example, a user can simply say: "The mouse pointer is too small," and the agent will find the necessary setting. At the owner's request, the agent will be able to not only search, but also change the settings automatically.
Click To Do will also get expanded capabilities. In particular, the Ask Copilot command will allow you to work with text or images on the screen, for example, create drafts of Word documents based on the displayed content. Click To Do will also allow you to launch Reading Coach, use Immersive Reader, communicate in Microsoft Teams or quickly transfer information from the screen to an Excel spreadsheet.
Microsoft continues to integrate AI into Windows Search and the Microsoft Store . Users will be able to find and install apps through search, and the Store will feature a personalized recommendations section. Copilot will help answer questions about Store pages, and apps with AI features will receive special badges.
Updates will also affect standard Windows applications. Photos will have a relight function, which will allow you to place up to three light sources for photo editing. Paint will receive support for object select and the ability to create stickers based on a text request. Snipping Tool will add automatic cropping, a text extractor, and a color picker.
In addition, Notepad will receive an AI write feature for generating text based on a query, as well as support for summarization and basic formatting.
Many of the new features will be available only on Copilot+ PC. Snapdragon devices will get them first, followed by Intel and AMD models later.
According to Microsoft, the company aims to make Windows "the most personalized and efficient platform" through artificial intelligence and hardware innovations.
