Microsoft may be preparing an official emulator to run Xbox games on Windows. The rumor emerged in a video by YouTube blogger eXtas1s ( via NotebookCheck), who claimed that the company is working on an x64 emulator that will allow games from Xbox consoles to run on PCs.
This information aligns with previous statements from Xbox representatives regarding a game save and archive program. If the rumors are confirmed, the new emulator could significantly expand the list of available games for Windows, including those that have not previously been released on PC or are not included in the backward compatibility program.
Additionally, the Xbox app for Windows is reportedly getting a Big Picture mode similar to what Steam already has, making the interface more user-friendly for portable devices like the Asus ROG Ally 2.
It is expected that Microsoft may officially introduce the new emulator at the Xbox presentation, which will take place on June 8, 2025. If this happens, the company will take another step towards implementing the Xbox Everywhere concept, expanding the availability of its games across different platforms.
