Mercedes cars will be able to use the camera for Microsoft Teams calls while driving
Mercedes-Benz will be the first automaker to allow the use of the built-in camera for video calls in Microsoft Teams while driving. The feature will be available in the new CLA -Class model and will be part of an update to MB.OS this summer.
During the trip, the driver will be able to broadcast their video, but will not be able to see the screens or slides shown by other participants in the call. This is done for safety reasons. The new feature is aimed at users who want to stay connected even while driving.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz is integrating Microsoft 365 Copilot into its new cars. Thanks to voice control, drivers will be able to check their email and create notes without being distracted from the road.
By the way, although video calls in Teams were officially announced only for the CLA, this feature is expected to appear in other models - in particular, in the E-Class, where cameras for TikTok and Zoom are already available.
