Microsoft will allow companies to create their own AI models
Microsoft announced at its Build 2025 conference the start of the rollout of an updated Microsoft 365 Copilot application, which, among other things, will allow companies to easily create their own language models based on their data. This is reported by Engadget.
The feature, called Copilot Tuning, is a no-code feature that aims to give companies more freedom to build their own models, rather than relying solely on OpenAI models. However, you will have to pay an additional $30 on top of your existing Microsoft 365 subscription to build your own models.
Copilot Tuning, which will begin rolling out to Insiders in June, will allow companies to create AI agents that "reflect its unique voice and expertise," Microsoft says. These agents will also be able to automatically compose documents and arguments without any coding.
Copilot Studio, Microsoft’s tool for building AI agents, is also getting an update. Agents will now be able to share data, collaborate on tasks, and distribute their work based on their expertise. The company says this will allow HR and IT agents, for example, to work together rather than being isolated in their own areas.
The updated Microsoft 365 Copilot app will focus on chatbot interactions and task-based tasks. The interface will be simpler, making it easier for users to work with agents and collaboration pages. In April, Microsoft also announced the launch of the Agent Store and the ability to create Copilot notebooks to store digital notes that can be listened to in podcast format.
