Nintendo showed gameplay of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the game will be released on Switch in 2025
Nintendo has finally revealed gameplay for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which will be released on Switch in 2025. The trailer shows off a new world to explore, new abilities for Samus, and a new costume.
Metroid Prime is a standalone Metroid game series that takes players into a 3D world from a first-person perspective. However, despite the change in genre, the core of the series remains the same: the main focus is not on fighting enemies, but on exploring complex multi-level locations, solving spatial puzzles, and finding the right path.
The last game in the series, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, was released back in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii. In 2017, Nintendo revealed a trailer for Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch at E3. However, fans have received virtually no new information about the game for years after that.
The Switch also has a remaster of the first Metroid Prime. It's surprising that Nintendo decided not to release remasters of the entire trilogy before the fourth part. However, if you're interested in the world of this game, Metroid Dread is available on the Switch, which is a classic representative of 2D metroidvania, in keeping with the traditions of the series that started the genre. In addition, with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you can play the original games in the series: Metroid, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission.
