Konami has released the opening video for the Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater remake, created by American designer Kyle Cooper. The video features an updated recording of the title song performed by Cynthia Harrell, who won the 2005 Best Original Vocal Song - Pop award for the original version of the song.
The Japanese company also says that players of the stealth action game Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will experience the same exciting plot and captivating world, but with completely new graphics on the Unreal Engine 5 engine and 3D sound that will emphasize the jungle atmosphere.
The story, characters, voice acting, gameplay, and music that made the original a sensation return, enhanced and remastered for modern consoles and PC. With new graphics, the wild vegetation of the jungles, forests, and swamps will be even more detailed, as will the characters.
The remake also revamps the combat damage system, with wear and tear on Snake's clothing, bruises, and bullet wounds on his body now displayed in real time. Injuries will also leave their mark on the protagonist's body, reflecting each player's unique journey.
However, Snake Eater will have two control modes: a new, modern style with a third-person camera, convenient and understandable for beginners, allowing for better immersion in the game, or a classic mode that recreates the atmosphere of the original with an overhead camera.
Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will be released on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on August 28, 2025. The game is also available for pre-order now. Players can start the game two days early by purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition.
