Meta is in talks with Disney and A24 to source new content or license existing content for its upcoming VR headset, The Verge reports, citing The Wall Street Journal.

As for the headset itself, Meta is working on a glasses-like device with the working name Loma. This headset will have a small, puck-like external component that users will carry around with them.

The Loma puck itself and the headset generally resemble the description of the rumored upcoming Puffin model - the likely successor to the Quest 3 and Quest 3S. It was previously described as an extremely lightweight peripheral headset with a puck attached.

According to sources, Meta aims to sell the Loma at a higher price than the Quest, which costs $300, but also cheaper than the Vision Pro, which costs $3,500. However, this is too wide a range to speculate on the exact price.

Meta's CTO Andrew Bosworth has previously publicly stated that the company is constantly working on various prototypes, including ones that will never make it to market. After the Loma news emerged, Bosworth reiterated his statement, adding that "stories based on chatter about one single solution will never paint a realistic picture."

As we’ll recall, it recently became known that Meta wants to create technology for the US military. Mark Zuckerberg’s company, together with Anduril Industries, Palmer Luckey’s defense firm, has applied for a project called EagleEye. It involves creating helmets, glasses, and other wearable devices with augmented and virtual reality technologies.
