- 18 September, 09:42 AM

At the Meta Connect 2025 conference, the company announced new Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses aimed at athletes. They will cost $499 and go on sale on October 21, 2025.

The new model has a solid front lens instead of two cameras in the corners, as in previous models. The glasses are equipped with a 12 MP camera with a viewing angle of 122°, support video recording up to 3K and have a programmable button for calling AI commands via the Meta AI application. The buttons are located at the bottom so as not to interfere with the use of helmets.

The operating time is up to 9 hours, with music - up to 6 hours. The charging case adds another 36 hours of battery life and allows you to charge the glasses to 50% in 20 minutes.

Meta says the new open-back speakers are 6dB louder than the Oakley Meta HSTN, and five microphones reduce wind noise during calls and Meta AI. The glasses also have an IP67 rating, the highest of any Meta model. The design with Oakley PRIZMTM lenses helps block out the sun, wind, and dust.

A special feature of the model is its integration with sports platforms. The glasses can be connected to Garmin watches to receive heart rate and pace data while running or cycling. In addition, they work with Strava - users can overlay sports metrics on videos and photos and immediately share them with the community.

Oakley Meta Vanguard will be available in four frame and lens combinations.

Sales will start in the US, Canada, the UK, EU countries and Australia. By the end of the year, Meta plans to launch the new product in Mexico, India, Brazil and the UAE.

In addition, Meta showed the new Ray-Ban Meta 2 with twice the battery life and 3K Ultra HD recording, as well as Ray-Ban smart glasses with a built-in display and a wristband for control.
