Meta is betting even more on AI and plans to fully automate ad creation by the end of 2026. Advertisers will be able to use AI at all stages of ad creation, including user targeting, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The company, which owns platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, where ads are also starting to appear, already provides some AI-based tools to advertisers. In particular, AI is used to make small changes to existing ads. With the innovation, advertisers will be able to create ads from scratch.
As the WSJ notes, AI advertising is part of Mark Zuckerberg's vision for Meta's development, as it is a core part of the company's business and is responsible for 97% of all revenue last year. In particular, Meta continues to invest the funds received in the development of artificial intelligence.
The new system will allow advertisers to create text, video, and images, then decide which Facebook and Instagram users to show them to. The system will also allow for budget targeting and will give advertisers the ability to personalize ads in real time using AI. Personalization will depend on factors such as geolocation.
"In the near future, we want to make a world where any business can simply tell us what goal they're trying to achieve, like sell something or get a new customer, how much they're willing to pay for each outcome, and connect their bank account, and we'll do the rest," Zuckerberg said during the shareholder meeting.
As a reminder, Meta previously delayed the release of its new breakthrough model, Behemoth, due to concerns about its capabilities. Inside the company, it is believed that the leap compared to existing models is not enough for its release. In addition, the company plans to transfer 90% of privacy and risk assessments in its products to artificial intelligence.
