Lucasfilm has announced a new film Star Wars: Starfighter starring Ryan Gosling

Lucasfilm has announced a new film, Star Wars: Starfighter, which takes place 5 years after Episode 9, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The film will be directed by Sean Levy, who recently directed Deadpool and Wolverine, and will star Ryan Gosling. Production is set to begin this fall, with the film set to hit theaters on May 28, 2027. The film is described as "an all-new adventure with new characters, set in a time period that has not yet been explored ."

The company also announced that work is underway on other projects from directors such as Sharmeen Obaid-Chyna, James Mangold, and Taika Waititi. In addition, Simon Kigberg is already working on a new trilogy.
