Lenovo cancels some pre-orders for Legion Go 2 console due to excessive demand
Lenovo has announced the cancellation of some pre-orders for the Legion Go 2 portable gaming console that were placed directly through the official website. This is reported by Engadget.
As the Lenovo team noted in a post on Reddit, demand for the new model significantly exceeded forecast volumes, which led to delays in delivery and the inability to fulfill all orders on time.
The problems began after an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session on Reddit dedicated to the launch of the Legion Go 2. During the event, company representatives answered only 10 questions and stopped participating. Two days later, Lenovo apologized for the lack of preparation, and later added that it was forced to cancel some orders.
As mentioned above, the cancellation only applies to customers who ordered the device through Lenovo.com. Orders placed with partners, including Best Buy, remain valid. Some users have already reported that shipping dates have been pushed back from September to October without prior notification.
Lenovo said that updated availability and reordering information will be posted on its website once stock is replenished. The company did not specify whether customers with canceled orders will receive priority during the next wave of sales.
Lenovo promised to answer questions left in the AMA thread within a month, but the reaction of users in the comments suggests that some of them may refuse to re-order after such a sales launch.
