Laptops with Intel Panther Lake chips may only appear in 2026
Intel has faced a delay in the release of its Panther Lake mobile chips, which are now expected no earlier than the middle of the fourth quarter of 2025, Wccftech reports, citing Medium.
The reason for this was the difficulty in achieving the required performance of Intel's 18A process. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the yield rate of usable chips is only 20-30%, which makes it impossible to mass produce on schedule.
This delay could negatively impact Intel's financial performance, as Panther Lake-based laptops likely won't be available until 2026. This means the company will miss the crucial holiday sales season in 2025. Intel is forced to rely on the performance of its Arrow Lake chips, which puts it at a disadvantage compared to competitors like AMD.
This situation highlights the need for Intel to step up its efforts to remain competitive in the market.
