Reburn Studio, which is a rebranding of the Ukrainian division of 4A Games, has officially announced its new project - the futuristic shooter La Quimera, which we have already talked about before. The first trailer for the game and a page on Steam have also appeared.
"Year 2064. The majority of nation states have become extinct. A series of natural and human-caused catastrophes in the 2030s and 2040s triggered the collapse of global systems, led to the fragmentation of human communities. The political entities in this new world are microstates and even amidst the current inter-state and corporate conflicts, typically see no point in maintaining their own armies, having to rely on mercenary forces — the "golden age" of private military companies, so called PMCs, has arrived," the game's synopsis on Steam says.
The game will be playable both solo and in co-op with two other players. The press release, obtained by GameSpot, also confirmed the involvement of director Nicolas Winding Refn, the author of such films as Drive and The Neon Demon. The release date of La Quimera is not yet known.
"Reburn is proud to present La Quimera, which builds on our success in creating story-driven shooters for the Metro series. We look forward to sharing this mysterious new world with players and hope they have fun donning costumes to join the fight," said Dmytro Lymar, CEO of Reburn.
