One of the most successful heavy metal bands, Metallica, will release an exclusive concert created to be viewed on the Apple Vision Pro headset.
Metallica's recording will feature three full performances of "Whiplash," "One" and "Enter Sandman," recorded during the band's Mexico City show as part of their M72 tour. The free recording will be available exclusively to Vision Pro owners on March 14, 2025.
Apple built a custom stage equipped with 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras to capture the concert. The footage was captured using a combination of stabilized cameras, tethered cameras, and remote-controlled systems that moved around the stage. Viewers will enjoy 180-degree, ultra-high-definition video and spatial audio, providing an even more immersive experience.
However, in select countries with official Apple Stores, fans of the band will be able to pre-order a free Vision Pro demo to watch Metallica's concert. In addition, a three-song spatial audio recording will be available on Apple Music.
