During the Press Start broadcast, Konami announced that it is developing a remake of the original Silent Hill. The project is being developed by Polish studio Bloober Team. The announcement was accompanied by an image of the game's logo and music from the first part, which was released in 1999.
This is Bloober Team's second project in collaboration with Konami. In October 2024, the studio released a remake of Silent Hill 2, which by January 2025 had sold over 2 million copies. Further work on the series classic, such as updating the first game, was an expected step for both companies. Details about gameplay, release date, or platforms have not yet been announced.
The original Silent Hill for PlayStation became a cult classic thanks to its psychological horror, oppressive atmosphere, and use of fog as a technical and stylistic element. The game launched one of the most influential series in the survival horror genre.
The same presentation also showed the developer diary for Silent Hill f, a standalone game set in Japan for the first time in the series' history. It is scheduled for release on September 25, 2025.
