British startup Bo, founded by engineers from the Williams motorsport company, has unveiled a new model of the Turbo electric scooter, which could soon set a world speed record for electric scooters.
The Bo Turbo is an upgraded version of the standard Bo M scooter, equipped with a dual 24,000W motor and a 1,800Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, the Turbo can reach speeds of over 160km/h and has a range of up to 240km (at 30km/h).
The Turbo features a lightweight construction made from aircraft-grade aluminum and a high power-to-weight ratio that the company says surpasses that of supercars, including the Bugatti Veyron. Formula 1-style air intakes are designed to cool the electronics and brakes.
The electric scooter is currently undergoing testing and refinement. The novelty was tested by former BMX cyclist Tre White, who reached a speed of "only" 137 km/h on it, but the manufacturer continues to improve the Turbo to reach the threshold of over 160 km/h and plans to set a world record with this indicator.
Bo plans to release a limited series of Turbo electric scooters to order, starting at $29,500. The first copy for this amount will be delivered to a collector in Madrid in 2026 before the local Grand Prix.
