This is how thin the new iPhone 17 Air will be
Apple is preparing to release the iPhone 17 Air, which could become the world's thinnest smartphone, surpassing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is rumored to be 5.84 mm thick.
According to well-known insider Ice Universe, the iPhone 17 Air will have the same dimensions as the iPhone 17 Pro Max, except for the thickness. The iPhone 17 Air, he says, will have a body thickness of only 5.5 mm, while the Pro Max model is 8.725 mm. This could make the Air model the thinnest iPhone in the company's history.
Both models will have the same height (163 mm), width (77.6 mm) and display size (6.9 inches). The screen bezels will remain the same as the previous iPhone 16 Pro Max model. At the same time, the new 17 Pro Max will become thicker, which is likely due to the larger battery.
According to the latest information, the iPhone 17 Air will have a similar design to the Pixel 9 smartphones, and will also likely replace the Plus model in the line.
The new iPhone 17 series of smartphones is expected to be unveiled in September.
