According to Android Authority, in the new version of iOS 19, Apple may add a feature that will make it easier for iPhone users to transfer eSIM to Android devices.

In the Android 16 beta for Google SIM Manager, we found mentions of a "Transfer to Android" feature that would allow wireless transfer of eSIMs from iPhone to Android. Currently, transferring eSIMs between iPhones is easy, but switching to Android requires contact with your carrier.

The new option will likely appear in the "Move or Reset iPhone" menu in Settings. Apple plans to expand the capabilities of the eSIM Quick Transfer feature by adding support for Android, as well as providing backup via QR code in case the wireless connection fails.

According to the Google SIM Manager code, iOS 19 is required to initiate the transfer, so this feature will likely arrive with the release of this version of the OS.

It's possible that Apple will reveal more details about the feature at WWDC 2025, which starts on June 9, or it could be introduced quietly. There's also a possibility that Google is developing a similar feature to ease the transition from Android users to iPhone.

As a reminder, information has also recently emerged that Apple is preparing a major design update for its operating systems, which will affect not only iOS, iPadOS and macOS, but also tvOS, watchOS and visionOS. The project is codenamed Solarium and will be the biggest visual change since iOS 7.
