iOS 18 is installed on 82% of compatible iPhones
Apple reported that 82% of all compatible iPhones have already upgraded to iOS 18. In January 2025, this figure was 68%.
The operating system was introduced at WWDC 2024 and began rolling out in September. iOS 18 supports models starting with the iPhone XR and XS.
The company also clarified that more than 88% of iPhones released in the last four years run iOS 18. Among iPads, this figure is 81%, and in total, 71% of compatible devices have switched to iPadOS 18. Apple did not specify how many users are already using Apple Intelligence features.
The next version of iOS will be presented on June 9 at WWDC 2025. The company will change the approach to numbering systems, and will now dedicate them to the year in which they were released. So at the event we expect the announcement of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26.
iOS 26 is expected to feature a major UI redesign inspired by visionOS, as well as a new gaming platform for users. The company may also introduce new health features and AI-powered battery optimization. Apple is also planning to make it easier to transfer eSIMs from iPhones to Android smartphones.
