Meta has introduced a new video editing app called Edits, which is aimed at Instagram content creators, Engadget reports.
It offers advanced editing tools that were previously unavailable in the company's apps. In particular, the camera allows you to shoot videos up to 10 minutes long and post them to Instagram in improved quality. Popular effects such as green screen are also available, as well as an extensive catalog of Instagram music.
Edits includes AI-powered features such as "animate," which allows you to create a video from a static image, and "cutouts," which helps isolate specific people or objects in a video. Unlike CapCut, Edits does not add watermarks to videos, which is a benefit for content creators.
The app also offers post analytics and the ability to import previously saved audio tracks. Meta notes that the current version of Edits is just an initial stage, and the company plans to work with users to expand the functionality in the future. The app is already available on the App Store and Google Play.
