Insider reveals specifications of new Google Pixel Buds 2a headphones

On August 20, Google plans to introduce a new model of wireless headphones Pixel Buds 2a simultaneously with the Pixel 10 smartphone line and the Pixel Watch 4. On the eve of the presentation, insider Evan Blass published the main technical specifications of the new headphones, comparing them with the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

The new Pixel Buds 2a are positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Pixel Buds Pro 2 headphones. They will have up to 7 hours of battery life without a case, and up to 20 hours with a case. They will support spatial sound, but without the head tracking function. Active noise cancellation (ANC) will also be present, but without the Silent Seal 2.0 technology, which improves noise cancellation in the Pro version.

The charging case will not support wireless charging, and the color range of the new Pixel Buds 2a will be limited to two options - dark and light, which will likely receive marketing names like "Obsidian" and "Porcelain".

The Pixel Buds 2a are the successors to the A-Series model, which was released back in 2021. The new product is expected to be aimed at users looking for basic functionality at a low price.
