In recent years, Microsoft has changed its strategy, abandoning its focus on selling consoles and exclusives in favor of attracting more players across platforms, including the PlayStation 5. As practice shows, this decision has its advantages, because Xbox games now dominate the PlayStation Store charts, writes GameRant.

The day before, it was announced that Indiana Jones and the Great will be released on PlayStation 5 on April 17, 2025. Shortly after, the game MachineGuns topped the list of pre-orders on the PlayStation Store in the US and immediately occupies the first two positions thanks to the Premium version.

It's followed closely by another former Xbox exclusive, Forza Horizon 5, which will be released on PlayStation 5 on April 29. The game also holds two spots – third and fourth – on the US store thanks to two versions. Another version of the game appears a little lower down the list.

In addition, several other Xbox games are present on the first page of pre-orders - two versions of DOOM: The Dark Ages and the remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. At the same time, PlayStation's own games, such as Death Standing 2: On the Beach and the Days Gone remaster, are also among the top ten most popular pre-orders.

Microsoft's strategy of abandoning exclusivity has already paid off and made the company the top publisher in December 2024. Interestingly, 64% of all player spending on Microsoft games was accounted for by PlayStation console owners.
