HP has introduced new OmniBook 5 series laptops with Snapdragon processors and a set of artificial intelligence features. The new products come in two sizes (14 and 16 inches) and will work up to 34 hours on a single charge.
The central feature of the OmniBook 5 is the claimed battery life of up to 34 hours. HP says that these test results appeared when playing video locally on a 16-inch device. In addition, the laptops will support 65W charging. The new products can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes thanks to HP Fast Charge technology.
As for other specifications, the OmniBook 5 has Snapdragon X or X Plus processors paired with Qualcomm Adreno GPU graphics, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8448 MT/s RAM, up to 1 TB of CIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD storage. The laptops are also equipped with a 45 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU). Thanks to this, the devices have AI features such as Recall, Click-to-Do, improved Windows search, Cocreator in Paint, and others. HP has also added its own HP AI Compaion, which allows you to analyze documents, optimize performance, and much more.
The displays in both models are virtually identical, differing only in diagonal. They are 2K OLED panels with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 300 nits peak brightness, and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. Touchscreen options will be available for both the 14-inch and 16-inch models.
As for other things, the OmniBook 5 has a 1080p FHD infrared webcam, supports one external 5K monitor or two 4K, HP Audio Boost 2.0 technology and Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The laptops have two USB Type-C and one Type-A and one combo headphone jack.
The OmniBook 5 14 will be available in July starting at $799. The OmniBook 5 16 will be available at the same time starting at $849.
