Honor has introduced the "thinnest" foldable smartphone - if you don't look at the camera
The new Honor Magic V5 is the "thinnest" foldable smartphone in the world, but only if you ignore its giant camera and only one color. The new product is currently available in China, The Verge reports.
When folded, the white Magic V5 is 8.8 millimeters thick – even thinner than the Oppo Find N5, which is 8.9 mm thick. However, the Find N5 has a camera module that is almost half the size, which is already very noticeable in the new Honor smartphone. The external display also has a diagonal of 6.43 inches and a refresh rate of 125 Hz.
When unfolded, the Magic V5 has a 7.95-inch screen with the same 125Hz refresh rate and a thickness of 4.1mm, also 0.1mm thinner than the Find N5. However, in this version, the Honor novelty still loses to the Huawei Mate XT, which folds three times.
While the 0.1mm thickness may not be a big deal, the rest of the Magic V5 is no different. It's powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB of RAM, and a 5,820mAh battery.
Among other things, the smartphone has wireless charging and IP58 and IP59 water and dust protection. Honor promises that the global release of the new product will take place soon.
