Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be released on PlayStation 5 this summer
On the first anniversary of the release of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Ninja Theory announced that their latest project, which was initially a temporary exclusive for Microsoft, will finally appear on PlayStation 5. The release is scheduled for this summer.
The announcement also states that with the release of Hellblade II on PS5, the game will receive certain improvements and new features that will also be available on Xbox and PC at the same time. Ninja Theory is not revealing exactly what these updates will be.
The studio also does not reveal the exact release date of the game on PlayStation 5, but Hellblade II can already be added to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II was released on May 21, 2024, to overwhelmingly positive reviews from the press and players. On Metacritic, the game has an average score of 81 from critics and 7.4 from players. On Opencritic, the situation is similar - 81 and 80, respectively.
In a review from Mezha the game received 9 points for its moving story, skillful use of Unreal Engine 5, excellent soundtrack and sound, cinematic combat system and, in particular, for the Ukrainian localization. Among the negative points, they noted a simpler combat system and puzzles compared to the first part and a somewhat naive final conclusion of the game.
Hellblade II is the sequel to the award-winning game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, released in 2017. The first part was a success both among critics and commercially - in less than a year its sales exceeded one million copies.
In the sequel, protagonist Senua once again embarks on a harsh journey of survival through the myths and horrors of Viking-era Iceland. In her quest to save those devastated by a ruthless tyranny, Senua battles the darkness within and without.
