OpenAI has begun beta testing Deep Research integration with GitHub. The new feature is now available to users of ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team plans. Enterprise and Edu members will have access at a later date, Engadget reports.
The feature allows you to give the assistant access to selected repositories and ask questions about their contents. ChatGPT will respond with links to relevant code snippets or documentation.
The integration is aimed at developers, one of the main audiences for AI assistants. It should simplify the processes of analyzing code, finding errors, and explaining features without having to switch between environments. Considering that GitHub is owned by Microsoft, one of OpenAI's main investors, the collaboration seems logical.
Deep Research was first introduced as a document analysis tool available only in the ChatGPT Pro plan , and was opened to all paid ChatGPT users in February.
