Elon Musk's startup xAI has introduced AI-powered animated 3D avatars to its Grok iOS app, including an anime heroine with NSFW mode. The new feature is available to SuperGrok subscribers, TestingCatalog reports.
xAI calls these avatars companions and currently offers two — anime heroine Annie and a ginger panda named Rudy, who can display different moods. Another anime character, Chad, will soon be available to users.
Companions can be enabled in the app's voice mode. After that, users will be able to communicate with avatars and increase the level of relationships through regular interaction. For example, for the character Annie, access to the NSFW mode opens at the highest level of relationships — in this mode she will be only in underwear. For another avatar, Rudy, new options open gradually within the framework of continuous dialogue.
Both Annie and Rudy have their own official accounts on X, which are connected to Animation Inc., but there are no further details about xAI's collaboration with this company.
