Google has released an update for its Gemini 2.5 Pro artificial intelligence model that expands its programming capabilities. The update was originally planned to be unveiled at the Google I/O 2025 conference, but due to "tremendous enthusiasm," the company decided to do it earlier.
The new version is called Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O edition) and features improved coding and multimodal thinking capabilities. Google says the update allows the model to create more interactive and visually appealing web applications. In addition, the capabilities for editing code, transforming it, and developing complex agent workflows have been improved.
Developers can access the updated version via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. For regular users, the model is available in the Gemini app.
