Google has announced the fourth beta of Android 16, the last major update before the stable version of the operating system is released. This version includes the April 2025 security patches, which address two critical zero-day vulnerabilities and other important issues. The build number of this update is BP22.250325.007.

As Android Police reports, this is the first beta available for the new Pixel 9a. It will also be available for other Google smartphones, starting with the Pixel 6, that are enrolled in the beta program.

The update notes have not yet been revealed, however, thanks to the GApps Flags & Leaks Telegram channel, it became known that the beta icon for the themed icons has been removed from the "Wallpapers and Style" section, indicating their stability.

Google has confirmed that the stable version of Android 16 will be released in the second quarter of 2025, likely during the Google I/O conference in May.

The Android 16 Beta 4 update has already started rolling out, but its availability depends on the device and carrier.
