iPhone and iPad users can now make Google Translate their primary translation app, replacing Apple's default app, MacRumors reports.

To do this, you need to update Google Translate to the latest version, then go to Settings → Apps → Default Apps → Translation and select Google Translate instead of Apple Translate. This option is available on devices with iOS 18.4 or iPadOS 18.4 and later.

The ability to change the default translation app appeared with the release of iOS 18.4, and Google was one of the first companies to implement this feature.

By the way, users can also change the default app for mail, messages, calls, browser, and password storage. In the EU, you can also choose a navigation app, such as Google Maps.
