Google is preparing to release the Pixel 10 Pro Fold with an updated hinge and IP68 protection
Google is preparing to introduce a new foldable smartphone, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which will receive some important changes, Android Headlines reports.
One of the updates will be an improved, thinner hinge. This will make the device more comfortable to use and reduce the overall thickness of the case. This will also increase the size of the external display — from 6.3 to 6.4 inches — without changing the dimensions of the device compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Another important feature will be IP68 protection, making the Pixel 10 Pro Fold one of the first foldable smartphones to be fully dust and water resistant. This means that the device will be completely dustproof and can withstand immersion in water up to one meter deep for 30 minutes. In comparison, most competing foldable models only have partial protection, such as IP48 or IPX8.
At the same time, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may also face competition from Samsung, which is rumored to be preparing a foldable Galaxy Fold 7 model with a similar level of protection.
The official announcement of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is scheduled for August 20, and the start of sales is scheduled for August 28. The smartphone will be presented together with other models of the Pixel 10 series.
