Google will make it easier to hide ads in search
When users search for information on Google, ads are usually the first results to appear, consistently ranking at the top. Now, that will change — it will be easy to hide such ads.
In its announcement, Google said that from now on, search ads will be displayed under a single label “Sponsored Results” instead of separate blocks. Thanks to this, users will be able to hide all advertising links with one click and focus only on the main search results.
"In our testing, we found that the new design helps people navigate the top of the page more easily. The new design keeps the size of ads the same and you’ll still never see more than four text ads in a grouping," Google says.
The company notes that the new ad label also applies to other search results, such as direct product ads. The update is now rolling out to Google on desktop and mobile around the world.
