Google to launch Gemini on Nest devices in October with free and paid versions

- 21 August, 02:54 PM

Google is integrating Gemini into Nest smart speakers and displays. The assistant will replace Google Assistant starting in October 2025 and will be available in free and paid versions. The company announced this in its own blog.

Gemini for Home will allow users to ask questions or control devices in a conversational way, just like with a real person, without the need for complex commands. The assistant will be able to analyze data from other Nest devices, including security cameras, to provide more accurate information about what’s happening in the home, such as identifying who has entered a room or reporting suspicious movement.

Early access to Gemini will be partially integrated with the Nest Aware subscription, which costs $10 per month, although the paid version may be a separate service in the future. Google has not yet revealed which features will be available exclusively to subscription subscribers, nor has it announced the exact cost of a Gemini subscription.

The company promises to provide more details about features and terms during the early access launch, which is expected to happen during the announcement of the new Nest Hub and smart speakers.

Recall, Google recently held a presentation where it introduced a new generation of Pixel smartphones, namely Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Pixel Buds 2a headphones and the Pixel Watch 4 smartwatch were also presented. The company also announced that it is integrating Gemini into Google Photos.
