Google's Gemini smart speaker and new Nest devices appear in high-quality images
Google is preparing to launch several new products in its Nest lineup, including a Gemini smart home speaker that the company accidentally revealed earlier. While we still don't know when they'll be officially unveiled, Android Headlines has a look at what the devices will look like.
First of all, we finally got some clear renders of the smart home speaker. Google only showed it briefly at its smartphone announcement event, but insiders have revealed that it will use Gemini, be able to control home appliances, and detect strange sounds like broken glass to alert users immediately.
The publication also talks about new Nest devices, the first of which is the third-generation Nest Cam Indoor. The camera will receive new color options for the first time, as well as 2K resolution, as opposed to 1080p in the 2021 model. The new product will also have Gemini support and six-times digital zoom.
The new camera will be able to store up to an hour of video locally in case of Wi-Fi issues and will have familiar features such as Activity Zones, Garage Door Alerts, Familiar Face Alerts, and more.
Another new addition is the Nest Cam Outdoor wired camera. Like the home camera, it will come in several colors — Snow and Hazel — and will feature 2K HDR video and Gemini. It will also feature a six-times zoom and the ability to quickly review any events from the past three hours in 10-second clips.
The latest update will be the third-generation Nest Doorbell. Like the other products, it will come in a variety of colors, including Snow, Hazel, and Linen, and will be able to record 2K video. The doorbell will have all the same features as the cameras, including the ability to preview the last three hours, as well as a new Daily Summaries feature that summarizes all the events of the day.
The price or release date of any of the listed Google products is currently unknown.
