Google plans to introduce a number of new devices on October 1, 2025, including a smart speaker called the Google Home Speaker. In addition, the company is preparing an update to the Google Home app for Android, which will receive a redesign and integration with the Gemini chatbot. This is reported by Android Authority.

The design changes will see several tabs renamed, including from Favorites to Home, and the removal of Devices and Settings. Instead, users will be able to see a list of their devices by clicking the grid icon in the Home tab.

Settings will be found by tapping on the account icon. There will also be Inbox and Labs tabs. At the same time, video and thermometer icons will be added, which are likely related to future Nest devices.

The main change will be the integration with Gemini. The chatbot will replace Google Assistant on smart home devices. Users will also be able to use Gemini Live to communicate in their native language.

In addition, Google Home will receive a new search engine, Ask Home, which will allow you to interact with Gemini and describe to it what you need to automate, or find a video or a specific event.
